The Hearst Lumberjacks, set to play their first season in the NOJHL when hockey season resumes in 2017-18, released their logo and uniform scheme to the public on their Facebook page Monday. The logo is a tribute to the town's roots in the forestry industry, while the icon on the lumberjack's right arm is the personal logo used by Claude Giroux, the NHL star and Hearst native who helped bring the franchise to his hometown. The treeline in the background form a crown in recognition of the Hearst Lumber Kings minor hockey teams Giroux grew up playing on.

Tributes to hometown hero Claude Giroux are front and centre as fans of the Hearst Lumberjacks can now dream in colour after the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League team released its logo and uniform on Monday.
