Let the revels begin!

It was celebration time over the weekend of July 21-23 as Kapuskasing celebrated its 18th annual Lumberjack Heritage Festival.



On July 23, 2017, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers of the Hearst Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were advised of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, in Studholme Township west of the Town of Hearst.

Camp bringing cultures together

For the second consecutive year “Echo d’un Peuple”, Félix St-Denis, the Conseil Scholaire Catholique de district des Grandes Rivières and Conseil Scholaire Publique de Nord-Est sponsored a camp designed to bring together the francophone community and First Nations, with a hope of both groups garnering a better understanding of each other’s culture.
