A youth has been arrested after a week-long rash of racist and anti-Semitic graffiti attacks that plagued places of worship across Ottawa.

Award winning journalist Susan Sherring is an Ottawa Sun news columnist. A day-oner at the Sun, Sherring has covered a variety of beats including courts, the federal public service, and was the Sun chain's first female Page Six columnist. In 1998, Sherring received the Joan Gullen Award for Excellence in Reporting for her series on autism. She has been nominated for an Ontario Newspaper Award for municipal reporting, and also received the Woman of the Year Award from the Consumers' Association. Born in Arnprior, Sherring has lived in Ottawa most of her life and has a Bachelor of Journalism with a combined honours in Canadian History from Carleton University. A hockey mom to two boys Sherring served as a board member for many years on the Nepean Minor Hockey Association, receiving the President's Award for outstanding volunteerism.
