KAPUSKASING – The Model Town's resident Men's Soccer team The Longhorns are currently seeking new members, said team captain Justin Renaud.

“We want to try and drum up interest, if there are people around town that don't know there's a men's soccer team, we're around and we're always looking for new recruits.”

He said there is no set number of people they need, but that due to turnover rates in the past few years, more will always be appreciated.

“So if there's anyone that is interested in playing men's soccer, either to join the team full time to play with us, or coming out for scrimmaging, we're always open to anything.”

If interested, Renaud said that people can contact the team through their public Facebook page The Kapuskasing Longhorns, or contact him directly at 335-3030. If not, Renaud said, there is always another way.

“They can always ask around town, odds are that someone will someone on the team, and in fact, word of mouth is normally how we find our players.”

The Longhorns participate in the Timmins Mens League .

“Normally we play games on Sundays, and we get together on Thursday nights to scrimmage or play pick up, we like to try and play a couple of times a week.
