March Results for OK Tire Kapswim

 Danika Ethier qualified for the prestigious Ontario Spring AA Championships in Markham at the beginning of the month.  Danika’s performance was impressive as she finished 6th in the 200m breast and 9th in the 100m back.  53 provincial clubs were represented.

 
Also last month, the OK Tire swim team travelled to Sudbury to compete in the 4th North East Ontario Regional meet of the season.  The competition was held in a 50m Olympic-size pool at Laurentian University.
 
The team grabbed 15 podiums, led by Laurence Trottier who finished 1st in the 50 back and 50 breast, and 3rd in the 100 breast.  Kaylee LaSalle also earned three podiums: 2nd place in the 100 back, and 3rd place in the 200 back and 100 fly.  Danika Ethier was 2nd in the 200 breast and 3rd in the 200 free, while her sister Sarah was 3rd in the 50 breast. Madison Smith earned 1st place in the 50 breast, and Trinity Carrière finished 3rd in the 50 breast.
 
On the boys’ side, Jacob Girouard was 1st in the 50 back and 2nd in the 50 breast while his brother Nicola was 1st in the 100 back and 2nd in the 200 back.
 
Other results from the weekend:  Claudie Audras was 18th in the 50 breast in her age group, Danelle Brisson 10th in the 50 back, Ryley Casonato 4th in the 100 back, Carley Dambrowitz 7th in the 50 back, Tessa Dambrowitz 6th in the 200 IM, Marie-Neige Gendron 7th in the 50 back, Raphaelle Gendron 8th in the 50 breast, Mackenzie Isaac 4th in the 50 breast, Madison Johnson 4th in the 50 breast, Abby LaSalle 5th in the 50 fly, Emily Laurin 5th in the 100 fly, Jodie Laurin 5th in the 50 back and 200 IM, Annabelle Nadeau 14th in the 50 breast, Olivia Reedhead 11th in the 50 breast, Sophie Renaud 8th in the 50 breast and Kyana Sanford 12th in the 50 back.  
 
Up next in April, swimmers will have the opportunity to swim in the final Top Fish meet of the season in Kirkland Lake, and compete in an Invitational meet in North Bay.
