Remi Ski Club surpasses fundraising goal with Twoonie Drive
The Remi Ski Club raised $3,033 earlier this month with their annual Twoonie Drive fundraiser.
KAPUSKASING - The Remi Ski Club raised over $3,000 earlier this month during the annual Twoonie Drive fundraiser held throughout Kapuskasing.
Event organizer Norm Nadeau said that the day saw $3,033 in total.
“Everything was terrific,” he said. “We passed our goal that we set at $3,000 by hitting just a bit past that.”
Nadeau said that the weather was really nice this year, especially in contrast to the extreme winds and colds of years previous.
“It was very pleasant compared to what we've dealt with in the past.”
The Ski Hill is looking to be opening in time for the holidays, and Nadeau is optimistic.
“The cold weather we've been having seems to be cooperating, so we're crossing our finger.”
He expressed his thanks to all who helped again this year.
“I'd like to thank all of our community donors in the area, as well as all of our volunteers,” Nadeau said. “The 1635 Royal Canadian Army Cadets assisted us again this this, making it the seventh year now that they've helped us by volunteering.
