KAPUSKASING – The Kapuskasing and District Chamber of Commerce (KDCC) in partnership with the Town of Kapuskasing held a Funder's Forum on Nov. 2 at the Civic Centre.
The all-day event featured a variety of organizations offering the opportunity for a wide number of grants, subsidies, and more for small businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
“We have various areas of funding here today, such as FedNor, NeoNet, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, North Claybelt CFDC, Business Enterprise Centre, and more,” said KDCC representative Donna Todd. “All of these organizations here coming together to help local businesses and not-for-profit organizations.”
She said that the event went well, with a good number of organizations and businesses stopping by.
Todd said that the Forum marked the first time the KDCC and Town have held one in recent years, but they're looking to make it a more common event.
“We're looking at probably having two a year, one in the spring, and then another in the fall,” Todd said. “With government funding, things change quite a bit, and so this will help give more exposure for the community and its businesses.”
