Boudreault earns Nationals berth
Kapuskasing native Maxime Boudreault has done it again.
Hot on the heels of his double record-setting weekend two weeks ago, Boudreault took the top spot at the Vanderlaan Building Products Ontario's Strongest Man 2017 provincial championship on Canada Day weekend.
Boudreault finished with 525 points, 130 points ahead of second-place finisher Karl Hjelholt, who finished with 395 and 150 points ahead of third-place finisher Eric Rautenberg.
Boudreault set new Canadian benchmarks for the log press and the keg toss at the “Championate Records Canadien Festivalma 2017” late last month.
The win makes Boudreault one of the four men granted a berth in the upcoming national Strongman championship to be held Sept. 16-17.
Before that however, he will participate in a World Strongman Championship qualifier on July 29.
Look to future editions of The Times for updates on Boudreault’s results.
