Jada Pinkett Smith is constantly left embarrassed by her husband Will borrowing money from strangers.
The Suicide Squad actor amused the world last December when he admitted to once asking a member of the public for money to pay at a gas station having forgotten his own wallet.
However what Will didn’t let on is that this wasn’t the only time he’s sought cash from someone he doesn’t know as his wife Jada, 45, revealed it’s a regular habit during an appearance on Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“He does all the time?” Jada quipped when host Jimmy, whose show served as the setting for Will’s confession, began to ask, “Is this something...”
“He does it all the time,” Jada continued. “He really likes to do it with me ‘cause I hate it, and he thinks that’s funnier... Because I get embarrassed.”
Recalling an incident when the couple was in New York and discovered a brand of water they both like was on sale at store Whole Foods, Jada explained her spouse was desperate to get a bottle sooner than later.
“He was like, ‘We’ve got to go right now to Whole Foods and we’ve gotta get a bottle of water,’” she remembered. “And I was like, ‘Well we don’t have any money,’ he said, ‘Don’t worry, I’m gonna ask somebody for a dollar.’ I was like, ‘Will, please don’t do that, you know I don’t like that.’”
Undeterred by Jada’s pleas, the 48-year-old actor proceeded to stop a woman and ask her for a dollar, to which she excitedly responded with a yes.
Clearly still bemused by the situation, the Gotham actress then shared what she was thinking at the time of the awkward scenario, shrieking: “Don’t have him give you money, ask him to give you some money! Don’t give him money! This is all wrong!”
