“Tembec is recruiting to fill several key roles in our staff organization along with hourly positions in both operations and maintenance areas,” Norm Leybourne, human resources manager for Tembec in Kapuskasing, said. “During 2014 we are anticipating filling up to 40 positions.”

Currently the jobs available range from staff positions such as mechanical supervisor to hourly positions, and Leybourne says more will open.

“Several maintenance staff positions are currently vacant, others are being filled temporarily and others are being anticipated to occur through the year.”

The skills and experience necessary for the staff positions range and are unique to the job, whereas the hourly positions are more static.

“To be considered for employment for our hourly positions, individuals require a minimum Grade 12 education,” Leybourne said. “Additionally, there are other specific skill requirements such as power engineering certification, trades certification, and mobile vehicle certifications to name but a few.”

“We are expecting nearly half of our Kapuskasing employees to retire over the next five years which will provide many varied opportunities for our community.
