Canada's DART team provides relief in the Philippines
While many in the Philippines were looking for a way out of their typhoon-ravaged country, QMI freelance photographer Gavin John spent three days in the air to get there.
He's spending six days with Canada's DART team as they work to help provide relief and rebuild the areas torn apart by Typhoon Haiyan that made landfall on Nov. 8, killing 4,000 people.
John has focused his efforts mostly on Panay Island in the Philippines, where damage has been extensive and where locals are struggling to put their lives back together.
He's tagged along with DART engineer teams who headed out to repair roads, restore electricity and set up clean-water facilities.
He's also followed medical teams providing aid to those injured.
These are his photos.
