Former Mattice resident Réal (Ray) Tanguay, Senior Managing Director in Japan for Toyota Motor Corporation, Sr. Vice President for Toyota Motor North America Inc. and Chairman of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc., now has more titles to add to his name.

Mr. Tanguay was honoured with an honorary degree Doctor of Laws from Wilfred Laurier University earlier this month. Laurier Chancellor Michael Lee-Chin, and Laurier President & Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Max Blouw gave him his diploma and hood, followed by Mr. Tanguay giving the convocational speech.

Last year, when the university hosted their 100th anniversary, Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni Association recognized 100 of its most exceptional alumni, including Mr. Tanguay.

That same weekend Mr. Tanguay was honoured at Wilfrid Laurier, he also received an honorary doctor of engineering from the University of Waterloo.

He has served on the Faculty of Engineering Dean's Advisory Council and completed a six year term on the university's Board of Governors.
